Best Jamaican Food in Oceanside

It's so hard to find a really good and authentic Jamaican restaurant. We were patties to have driven by here and see it by chance. The Pattie's, while super thin and not what I'm used to, we're still good on flavor. I'd like to try a few more dishes when we're in the area again especially their fried fish and curry. The only two recommendations I have are because it is about .50 more for the patties than what I typically pay for in LA and NorCal and thinner with a little less meat. Also, this didn't impact the stars but more of a recommendation: it would really be awesome if they had a little mini mart of Caribbean items (i.e. drops, Easter bun, cheese, peppermint oil, Limacol, fresh plantains, and it's a stretch but boneless salted fish packages).

It's a cozy, attractive restaurant with some pretty darn good Jamaican food. The decor inside is very cool. You may not feel like you're in Jamaica but the vibe is certainly there. Plenty of free parking in the center. The oxtail bowl was delicious and I only wish there was more of it. Its flavor was deep and rich and the sauce was very, well, very lickable. It's a little pricey for the quantity but I can't deny the great flavors.

Their food was delicious! Oxtail was so good. The sauce was a bomb. I finished all the rice with sauce even I normally don't eat that much rice. I like that Steamed vegetables were a little bit spicy. Beef and chicken patties were also spicy and delicious. Nice people there. I will be back and try the other dishes.

I've lived near this spot for so long and always heard great things and never tried it until now. I just got back from Atlanta on a work trip where I had some Jamaican curry goat that I fell in love with and had to try it from here. It was completely shattered my expectations. So amazing. I'm eating the curry goat, plantains, peas and rice, and steamed cabbage. I also got a chicken and beef patty and it's all incredible. Will definitely be coming back here for more. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, everything is perfect.
